Early Technical Foundations

A technology leader with more than 29 years’ experience in the global software industry. His career began in deeply technical roles including technical lead, architect, chief architect and platform engineering director, building complex systems within the Fintech, Education and IoT industries . This foundation created a broad understanding of the full product development lifecycle — from architecture and infrastructure through to product delivery and customer experience.

A strong advocate for customer-centric product development, Nick believes successful technology organisations must build the customer experience end-to-end. His approach to product management has always been grounded in user research, thoughtful design, and close collaboration between engineering, product, and business teams. Throughout his career he has combined deep technical expertise with the ability to communicate complex technical ideas clearly to executives, boards, and non-technical stakeholders.

Executive Leadership

Nick later moved into executive leadership roles, most recently serving as Chief Product & Technology Officer at Cubic3, a global connectivity platform provider supporting 26+ million connected vehicles worldwide. In this role he led global Product, Engineering, Corporate IT and Security functions, overseeing a team of more than 275 professionals across multiple countries.

During his tenure he led major organisational and operational transformation initiatives, introducing company-wide OKRs, embedding Lean and Kaizen practices, and revitalising the organisation’s innovation pipeline. His leadership contributed to significant improvements in platform performance, development throughput, and customer satisfaction, while also considerably reducing infrastructure costs and expanding the platform’s capabilities. Nick also played a key role in technical due diligence and post-transaction integration following SoftBank’s majority investment in the company.

Global Scale Experience

Before Cubic3, Nick served as Chief Technology Officer at Fleetmatics / Verizon Connect, the global market leader in fleet management and mobile workforce solutions. There he led global engineering and technology strategy for a platform supporting nearly four million connected vehicles worldwide and managed engineering teams of over 700 professionals across eight development centres in six countries.

During this period he established several critical engineering disciplines — including Architecture, Performance Engineering, Product Security, and Dev Ops — while driving large-scale Lean transformation initiatives to support the company’s rapid growth. He also played a central role in acquisition due diligence of multiple companies and the integration of acquired platforms and engineering teams into a unified technology ecosystem.

Across these roles Nick has consistently combined architectural depth, organisational leadership, and strategic thinking to help companies scale technology platforms and engineering organisations successfully.
